The one constant we can depend on in an assault of any kind, verbal to physical, is that the amygdala will be triggered from the adrenal response. People that have never trained having the amygdala activated will never know how they respond under duress. In other words they won't know if they will be able to control their adrenal fear rush and use it to jet fuel their fight, or if it will it actually control them and cause them to react poorly. The clips show this perfectly.

And we can't fake it by pretending we will just flip our switch and fight for our loved ones when needed, even with years of traditional MA(non amygdala) type training. We see this in a multitude of Youtube videos where belted martial artists get taken out by a street thug with only one decent technique but who has the will to fight.

"Symmetrical" training methods have consistently fallen short to adequately train people to deal with the "asymmetric" tactics used by Predators (fair fight vs ambush/unfair fight). Predators by their nature hunt asymmetrically using stealth and deception to set up their unwary victim. They do not want a fair fight. And they well know how to set up their victim through real life experiences.

The good news is asymmetric training exists. It's just that it is still largely misunderstood because it requires a radical paradigm shift in thinking, especially for martial artists in which this concept is actually contradictory to their traditional MA training. And then there are also the myriad of people with no training who are caught in the denial loop. Hence, lots of unwary potential victims out there for the predators to prey on. But it does not have to be so.

Thanks for posting this!
Bill KippAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112548874361255052noreply@blogger.com
